Overview
The Silvermoon LUNOS Enterprise Suite has been designed according to IBM's Insurance Application Architecture (IAA) - a set of models defining the insurance industry.
The use of IAA ensures that Silvermoon's solution meets insurance industry best practice standards. IAA embodies the planning, thinking, execution and experience of all companies that participated in the design over the past 20 years.
Currently more than 200 companies across the world contribute to the IAA body of knowledge. As a consequence, the information built into the IAA Foundation Models from that experience is one of the real value propositions of IAA that is hard to beat.
A special feature of IAA is called "separation of concerns". This design keeps the details of products and agreements out of the system code. All insurance products and agreements are modeled independently of the system and then plugged without necessitating any changes to core system code.
Yes, some light coding of custom rules and calculations will be involved during initial deployment and in the early stages of a company's implementation - these are also plugged in However, over time, the need for new rule and calculation coding reduces as the library grows and parts are re-used.
Product Modeling is an immensely powerful feature of IAA-based systems, and therefore of LUNOS-based solutions. It saves an unbelievable amount of time and money and will allow any company to respond to market forces very quickly.
